Parli Vaijnath Temple Maharashtra

Parli Vaijnath Temple, situated in Beed district of Maharashtra, is one of the revered 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, which makes it one of the most spiritually charged places of pilgrimage in India. It is believed that the temple represents Lord Shiva in the form of Lord Vaidyanath (the Divine Healer), who bestows health, peace, and liberation from sufferings on devotees.

According to ancient Hindu scriptures like the Shiva Purana, it is believed that the temple is associated with the legendary story of Lord Shiva and Ravana, the King of Lanka. It is believed that Ravana, the King of Lanka, performed rigorous penance to appease Lord Shiva and asked for immortality and divine strength. Lord Shiva, pleased with the penance of Ravana, appeared before him and gave him a Jyotirlinga with the condition that it should never be kept on the ground. Lord Shiva, by his divine powers, established the lingam at Parli.

The architecture of the temple is similar to the Hemadpanthi style, with the use of robust stone structures that have stood the test of time. It is also believed that by performing the rituals of Rudrabhishek and Jal Abhishek, the devotees can get rid of diseases, planetary doshas, and even negative energy. During the holy month of Shravan and Mahashivratri, lakhs of devotees visit the temple to receive the healing and blessings of the Lord.

Parli Vaijnath is not just an ordinary temple, but it is also a healing place where the devotees can find the perfect blend of spirituality and tradition. It is considered that by visiting Parli Vaijnath, the devotees can receive the blessings of the Almighty in the form of spiritual purification.
