Mahamrityunjay Mantra is the religious mantra which is also known as “Rudra Mantra.” However, this mantra has different names and forms. Rudra is a furious form of Lord Ujjain (Lord Shiva). The word “MAHAMRITUNJAYA” is a combination of three words, i.e., Maha (great), Mrityun (Death), and Jaya (Victory), which entail a meaning victory over death.
Mahamrityunjay Mantra is referred to as Lord Shiva (Ujjain Pardeshwar mahadev temple ). Mahamrutyunjay mantra is found in Ancient Hindu Text (Rigveda) whose author is Rishi Vashishta. The most powerful mantra, ” Mahamrityunjay Mantra,” has another name of ” Trymbkam Mantra,” referring to the Lord shiva’s three eyes. Mahamrityunjay means Victory over the evil things and Victory over the illusion of separateness from the soul
At first Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees.In the Mahamrityunjaya Jaap method, the Mahamrityunjaya mantra is chanted 125000 times using a Rudraksha rosary. Before starting the Jaap, one should offer water, Bel leaves, and a ghee lamp or incense to Lord Shiva. After the Jaap, prayers are offered to Lord Shiva, and then Havan is performed.
