Rameshwaram Parthiv Shivling Puja

Rameshwaram Parthiv Shivling Puja is a very pious ritual, which is performed in the worship of Lord Shiva, where a Shivling is made from holy soil (mitti) and then worshipped as per Vedic rituals. This very effective puja is performed to get rid of sins, overcome obstacles in life, and achieve happiness, prosperity, and spiritual development. Performing Parthiv Shivling Puja in the holy land of Rameshwaram has its own special spiritual significance, as this place is very much linked with Lord Shiva and ancient Hindu rituals. This puja is performed by devotees to get the blessings of Lord Shiva for success, safety from negative energies, and fulfillment of wishes.

The Parthiv Shivling Puja starts with Sankalp, where the priest takes the name, gotra, and prayer intentions of the devotee. A holy Shivling is formed from purified soil and placed on a worship altar after proper purification rituals. Lord Shiva is invoked by Vedic mantras and prayers, followed by Abhishekam with milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar, and holy water. Bilva leaves, flowers, sandalwood paste, incense sticks, and holy offerings are made with devotion while reciting powerful Shiva mantras. A holy Havan can also be performed to increase the spiritual benefits of the puja. After finishing the prayers and Aarti, the Parthiv Shivling is immersed in water with respect, symbolizing surrender and completion of the puja. The devotees are then blessed and given prasad for peace, positivity, and divine grace.
